Hello angels:
Just a quick reminder that we are planning to meet Monday night at 7 pm at the North Fremantle Community Hall for our first Band of Angels Rehearsal for 2011. Louise Bell is away for a few more weeks of holiday, but I will be rejoining you to work on a few new songs and old favorites. My plan for Monday: Welcome to Heaven Vuma Lily in the Valley Nobody's fault but mine and anything from the current repetoire! Kristin "Angels in any quantity may be referred to only as a host" - J. Hello angels:
Just a quick thank you to everyone who was able to participate in the performance for the Fremantle City Council at the Maritime Museum on the 17 December 2010. Everyone did a wonderful job--we had a great sound in that space! I know the audience had a wonderful time as several people came up to compliment me on your music afterwards. Thank you: * To all of you who gave your best at the performance--your voices, energy, enthusiasm and joy was contagious! * To all of you who made time in a very busy Christmas schedule (including arranging work, babysitting, private lives to ensure we had the chance to take up this wonderful opportunity) * To the Fremantle City Council--especially Barbara & her husband for connecting us! * To Louise for taking our material and giving it some new life and beauty with her directions and coaching! * To Jodi & Susan for their beautiful solos! * To the committee for managing the business of the choir effectively, giving us all time to focus on the fun music and performance stuff. * To John for delivering the sound equipment even tho we couldn't use it! And for arranging our "after party"! * To Linda for ironing and arranging the stoles to give us that splash of colour! * To all those that were able to come out and enjoy a festive celebration together at Villa Roma! Thank you everyone for ending 2010 on a high note! Our last rehearsal for 2010 was 13 December 2010. Our first rehearsal for 2011 is scheduled for Monday 17 January 2011 at North Fremantle Community Hall (Harvest Road) at 7 pm. I am looking forward to singing with you all in the new year! Enjoy your summer break! Kristin Wednesday, December 8

Hello angels:
Just a quick note about our upcoming performances.
1) The Performance planned for this Sunday, 12 December 2010 as part of the Battle of the Christmas Choirs has been cancelled after serious discussion and debate at Monday night's rehearsal. This wasn't a decision made lightly, and we know it will be a disappointment for many of you. The primary concerns raised were regarding our limited amount of time to work with our new director to prepare and that cancelling the performance will allow us to focus on our Friday performance with the City of Fremantle.
2) We will be performing on Friday, 17 December 2010 at the City Of Fremantle Christmas party. We will perform from 7:45-8:10 pm at the Fremantle Maritime Museumhttp://www.google.com.au/maps/place?cid=338352195741837470&q=maritime+museum+fremantle&gl=auin Function Room 2. http://www.museum.wa.gov.au/sites/default/files/FunctionCentre+Balcony_.pdf
PLEASE NOTE--this is the museum by the E-SHED (NOT by Cicerello's).
We will meet on the steps outside of the Maritime Museum at 7 pm for warm up and rehearsal. Please wear all black (preferably closed toe shoes and button up shirts) we'll provide the colourful stoles. Wear some bling if you've got it!
Music selected for the night includes:
I want to be ready
All night, All Day (new arrangement by Louise)
I'm gonna sit at the welcome table.
Every time I feel the spirit
One more time.
I'll be directing on the night, but Louise is using her fantastic ear and teaching ability to help us prepare. Please plan to be ON TIME on Monday the 13th. Review the music ahead of time (much of it is posted on our website--either on the main page or the mp3 folder) and be prepared just to "polish" it up.
This performance is a wonderful opportunity for us to demonstrate what we do and could lead to other exciting opportunities such as participation in local festivals, concerts and more.
Our first priority is to have a great time and bring the joy of gospel to our participants, so come prepared--and prepared to have fun!
Kristin

Hello Angels:
I just want to say thank you so much for your wonderful efforts today. I hope you had a fun time and were proud of the great job you did! With the success of today, I'm sure there will be many more great performances ahead. You did a fantastic job--I had so many compliments! I'd like to put a few special notes of thanks: * John Bell for helping with our sound system--he did a lot of lugging of things, but I think it prepared us to use the Hall's equipment! * Our soloists--Susan & Jodi--for being willing to step forward and doing a beautiful job. * The Octet--for jumping in with One more time (especially John & Frank for their leads) * Our newcomers (so many of you learned a lot in just a few weeks). * Our old-timers (who have kept us going during our transitional time) * Our committee who keep everything running week to week * All of you who made the special effort to come to rehearsals, listen to music on the website, and make sure that every week was fun. John Bell had a recorder in the audience, I've posted the recording of today's performance in the mp3 section. if you have any photographs of the action today, please send them to me and I'll post them on the website. Remember, we are meeting Monday night at 7 pm for a celebration and to welcome new MD Louise Bell. Bring a plate to pass and the beverage of your choice (glasses too). Thank you for everything over the past 8 weeks--I've been privileged to lead such a fun, dedicated, talented group of folks, I have appreciated your patience this last month as I struggle with my voice--your focus and concentration as I whisper out the parts made a big difference. I'm honoured to join the sopranos again (well, as soon as I can sing again!) Most especially, I have had an incredibly fun time singing this music that we all love. Kristin Sunday, October 24

Hello Angels:
Thanks to Louise Bell for leading rehearsal on Monday. I hear it was a lot of fun--and Louise provided a lot of great feedback. I wish I could have been there, but I'm still under the weather (and still no voice!). I hope to be up for rehearsal on Monday, 25th (I'll keep you posted if there will be a change). We will rehearse the following 5 songs: I wanna be ready All Night, All Day Everytime I feel the spirit Sit at the Welcome Table One more time Mp3s and videos are available on the website. Upcoming BOA Performance: 7 November 2010: North Fremantle Bowling Club. We will perform at 3:00 pm, please meet outside the townhall at 2:30 to warmup and run-through music. Please dress in all black to the performance (preferably black button up shirt/black dress pants), and we'll provide "stoles". Traditionally, ladies and gents are also invited to wear "bling" --as much big, bright, audacious jewelry, hats, etc as you've got. We have a 20-25 minute slot, and we'll look to time our set next week. While I know everyone has a lot of different responsibilities, please try to make an extra effort to attend (and if possible) be on-time for our next few rehearsals (especially the 1 November!). Other Upcoming Musical Opportunities: Spring Song in Dunsborough 12,13,14 th November, with a special gospel workshop with Sonia Anderson on Saturday and Gospel Choir on Sunday. Only $50 for the weekend in a lovely part of the country.
See attached for details.
i.e. performers are half price if

Hello angels!
Thanks for your patience during the last rehearsal. I really appreciated your efforts at listening as I lost my voice. Unfortunately, my voice has not returned yet (yes this is driving me crazy!) Luckily, Louise Bell will be available to run rehearsal on Monday night the 18 October and go over the music for the performance on the 7th (please make sure you have marked your calendars for 2:30 pm on 7 November at the North Fremantle Bowling Club) We will likely sing 3 of the following 5 songs, so I've asked Louise to go over them again: All Night,All Day (Jodi singing lead) I wanna be ready (Susan singing lead) One more time Sit at the welcome table Everytime i feel the spirit I've added recordings to the website for All Night, All Day; I wanna be ready, and One more time. Please visit the website (www.bandofangelsgospelchoir.com), we'll give the login at rehearsal to so you can hear these mp3s. If I ever get my voice back I'll also record Sit at the welcome table and everytime. Thanks everyone! Kristin -- "Angels in any quantity may be referred to only as a host" - J. On Monday we are blessed with former New South Wales choir director, Jen Squires, who has taught a lot of gospel.
Jen has been singing in barbershop four-part, unaccompanied harmony choirs for 16 years Jen says: I have been a Sweet Adeline for over 16 years starting with Bathurst chorus (where I was choreographer). http://www.facebook.com/iCappella.
While on the North Coast I sang for a couple of years with an SATB choir who did quite a lot of gospel (later coaching them) so I'm looking forward to meeting your singers and hearing your repertoire. John Bell Sunday, July 25

Hello all: I'm pleased to be back as Rehearsal Leader for Monday 21 June-19 July 2010. With 5 weeks together, we have the opportunity to learn some new songs, brush up some old favorites but most of all have a good time. I want to make sure we have fun, so please come with suggestions for songs to learn/revise. I'm looking through Rosie's old music for favorites. Chloe has given me her songbook too. So let me know and we'll give it a go. For our first rehearsal together, please listen up to the following songs prior to Monday's rehearsal:

Not going anywhere for now - my Mum is still in hospital (sedated and intubated). She had a mild heart attack and is recovering from a nasty lung infection.
But my family who are there are saying don't panic, come when planned in June (we're going for 4 weeks) and stay put until further notice.
...
I'll intend to come to choir on Monday at this point though. ....
Thanks for all your concern
